Abstract

Political Evolution and Revolution (1884) examines the relationship between gradual reform and violent upheaval. Molinari argues that revolutions, however understandable as responses to oppression, are almost always counterproductive — that lasting progress comes through the peaceful evolution of institutions, driven by education, commerce, and voluntary cooperation.
