The original software installed on Antminer's mining machines is limited in functionality. That's why in this guide, we will install another software called BraiinsOS+. It is a third-party software developed by the first Bitcoin mining pool, offering more features and allowing, for example, the modification of the machine's power.
There are several methods for installing Braiins OS+ on an ASIC. You can refer to this guide as well as the official Braiins documentation.
Here, we will guide you through the process of easily installing Braiins OS+ directly on the memory of your Antminer using the BOS toolbox software, replacing the original operating system, with detailed steps outlined below.
- Power on your Antminer and connect it to your internet box.
- Download the BOS toolbox for Windows / Linux.
- Unzip the downloaded file and open the bos-toolbox.bat file. Choose the language, and after a few moments, you will see this window:
- The Bos toolbox will allow you to easily find the IP address of your Antminer and install BraiinsOS+. If you already know the IP address of your machine, you can skip to step 8. Otherwise, go to the scan tab.
-
Usually, on home networks, the IP address range is between 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.1.255, so enter "192.168.1.0/24" in the IP range field. If your network is different, please change these addresses accordingly. Then click on "Start".
-
Attention: if the Antminer has a password, the detection will not work. If that's the case, the simplest solution is to perform a reset.
-
You should see all the Antminers on your network appear here, and the IP address is 192.168.1.37.
- Click on "Back" and then the "Install" tab, enter the previously found IP address, and click on "Start".
If the installation does not work, it may be necessary to perform a reset and try again (see the previous section).
- After a few moments, your Antminer will restart, and you will be able to access the Braiins OS+ interface at the specified IP address, here 192.168.1.37, directly in the address bar of your browser. The default username is "root" and there is no default password.
