At your meet-ups and events, a little incentive can be introduced: event badges. The idea is to create a badge that can only be obtained at that specific event. This concept exists on other blockchains under the name of "POAP" ("Proof Of Attendance Protocol"). However, there is currently no free way of implementing this on Bitcoin.
Such a system could also be used to reward your community's most active members. For example, you could organize an annual raffle in which each badge collected equals one entry ticket. A member who attends all 12 meet-ups in a year would have 12 tickets for the raffle.
In another, more traditional approach, you could simply ask participants at each event to write their first name or nickname on a badge, along with the reason they're attending.
While a bit formal, this can help members find common interests and conversation topics more easily, and it also makes it easier for newcomers to spot the organizers (or official community/association members).
Several badge templates used by the Bitcoin Lille association are available in open-source on Canva.
