Creating communication channels for your Bitcoin community
Consider alternative, private and more secure communication channels
As discussed earlier, Twitter and Telegram are the most widely used communication tools for Bitcoin communities in Europe (if not worldwide).
However, Telegram isn't exactly known for being the most secure or privacy-focused messaging app, and Twitter, now X, is owned by one of the freest-moving corporations on the planet.
That's why, once your core channels are in place and things are running smoothly, it can be worth taking the time to explore other options.
In the coming months, this course and the planb.network platform will offer tutorials on how to use alternative protocols such as Simplex and Element: decentralized, encrypted, and highly customizable communication tools.
Why bother looking into these options?
Because, just like the NOSTR social network, they provide not only greater privacy but also a safeguard against censorship or the arbitrary shutdown of your Telegram group.
And really, what could be more in line with the spirit of Bitcoin than being censorship-resistant and resilient by design?
