Almost every bitcoiner has probably seen Rémi Forte's fascinating mid-series "Le mystère Satoshi, aux origines du Bitcoin" (The Satoshi Mystery: The Origins of Bitcoin).
Released in 2021, it has been viewed several million times on YouTube.
One idea could be to organize a screening of The Satoshi Mystery for your community, perhaps as an extra monthly event.
A word of warning: although ARTE France has confirmed that public screenings are allowed, you must pay projection rights to do so legally. In 2023, this cost was around €250 per screening, or €120 per screening if at least five meetups screened it during the year.
For most communities, this price is prohibitive, especially since the documentary is already available for free on ARTE's YouTube channel.
Of course, other projections are possible.
For example, in France, director Alana Mediavilla hgranted local meet-ups the right to preview her documentary "Stranded ", which includes footage from the upcoming 2024 film film "Dirty Coin".
Some bitcoiners even took the initiative to fully translate "Stranded" into French, add subtitles, and share it with meetups across the country. During the week of March 4, 2024, it was screened simultaneously at around a dozen meetups nationwide.
The event sparked lively discussions about Bitcoin mining, its energy consumption, and its broader environmental impact.
