Create a library

Another project you can easily set up is creating a library at your meet-ups.
You could invite participants who wish to share their reading material to bring a Bitcoin-related book. If someone else at the meet-up wants to borrow it, a loan could be arranged with the owner in exchange for a deposit, for example, 21,000 satoshis via Lightning.
For the owner, this deposit helps cover potential loss or theft. For the borrower, it's an incentive to come back to a future meet-up to retrieve their deposit.
If you run an association and want to invest part of your funds in educational resources, you can also purchase several books to offer in your Bitcoin library, available at each meet-up.
To support the ecosystem, publisher Konsensus Network has been offering international Bitcoin meet-ups and communities a 15% to 35% discount on all its books since late 2023, for orders of three books or more.
To take advantage of this discount, simply contact Konsensus publishing house on Twitter.
If you don't have the cash, you can still pass on the discount to members of your community.
If you don't have the funds yourself, you can still pass the discount on to your members. For example, one organizer could collect orders from members, place a bulk order at the reduced price, and distribute the books at the next meet-up, with payment collected in Lightning at that time.
You might also display a book-lending charter at your meet-ups to clearly explain the borrowing rules to newcomers.
Here's an open-source example you can use and adapt: Book lending charter
Finally, to encourage Bitcoin-related reading, you could visit local municipal libraries to see if they have books on Bitcoin. If they do, ask librarians if there are any round tables planned on the topic, and offer them your meet-up's contact details. If not, suggest that they acquire a few books from a pre-selected list. The publisher Konsensus Network can be a source of inspiration.
